TEMPLES, CULTURE, AND A BRIEF HISTORY LIKE NO OTHER WITH OUT ADVENTURES GAY TRAVEL

The Lowdown
Cambodia boasts a fascinating background, impressive sights, and some of the friendliest locals we’ve encountered. Bustling Phnom Penh is home to the magnificent Royal Palace. The tranquil countryside is usually peppered with rice areas. And the ancient city of Angkor is both mighty, and a mighty fave of most OUT Adventurers. Throw in some of the world’s most pristine beaches, and luxurious properties that provide incredible value, and it all adds up to a sweet taste of paradise.

The LGBT Factor
While Cambodia isn’t a gay hotspot by itself, there’s an extraordinary amount of nightlife in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. From hole-in-the-wall drag pubs, to cafes, to some of the greatest cabarets we’ve seen, you certainly won’t be baffled for things to do after a time of temple hopping.

The Best Time to Visit
This country is warm all year round, although we prefer to travel between November and April as it is the dry season. The only dilemma you’ll have is certainly whether to travel when it’s cooler, but even more crowded (Nov-Feb), or when it’s a bit stickier, however the crowds have passed away down (Mar-Apr). Anticipate daytime highs around 30C/85F, with the mercury increasing the later you go.

The Shock Factor
When travelling to Cambodia, you’ll see both good and bad. Poverty is widespread, however the friendly locals replace it. English speakers can be hard to find, so arm yourself with an expression reserve (or app) and a sense of humour!

Visas
Visas could be organized either beforehand or on arrival. Consult with your embassy or consulate, and allow about three weeks for processing. You can also obtain your visa on arrival at the airport, or border crossing, for about $25 USD (cost at the mercy of change). There might be exceptions, and all visas are the responsibility of the traveller.

Vaccinations
Predicated on the entry requirements pertaining to Cambodia, there are no vaccinations needed for entry. To determine should you take preventative measures to reduce the risk of illness, consult with your doctor or a travel medical clinic. OUT Adventures cannot provide vaccination recommendations.
