UK Must Ban Abusive Gay Conversion Therapy (Petition Goes Viral)

Petition launched to ban dangerous gay ‘cure’ therapy

The UK government must stop hospitals and other medical facilities from subjecting LGBT people to so-called “conversion therapy” that in some cases has involuntary confinement and forced medication.

As the UK Parliament recognizes being LGBTI is not really a disease, and sexual orientation conversion therapy is ‘both ineffective and potentially extremely harmful,’ conversion therapy is rampant in the United Kingdom.

A few months back, there is a trend of memes that had a fairly simple format. X is residing in 3017 and we’re still in 2017. Based on the Gregorian calendar, we’re still in the year 2017, but some folks, with better usage of fresh new devices, make it out that we’re a millennium ahead.

But for some individuals, they’re ethically still in the entire year 0017.

The Mountain of Fire and Wonders Ministry, which has a branch on Breck Street, Anfield, Liverpool was found offering gay people the chance to ‘cure’ themselves of their homosexuality through a relentless prayer session involving three days without food or water.

After an arresting investigation, a journalist for the Liverpool ECHO, Josh Parry, has launched a petition to ban gay conversion ‘therapies’ in the U.K by striking them as an offender offence. The practice invites nothing at all by psychosomatic injury to those included, with those undergoing these ‘therapies’ are 8.9x more likely to commit suicide and 5.9x much more likely to self-harm. Just as much as the medical discourse has altered with contemporary transformations in thought, some still regard homosexuality as a medical anathema that needs to be cured.

At 10,000 signatures, the Government will react to the petition. At 100,000, the petition will be debated by Parliament.

Fresh call to ban ‘gay conversion therapy’

Ben Bradshaw says a ban is long overdue

The government is facing a fresh push to ban “conversion therapy” aimed at changing gay people’s sexuality. The Church of England has been calling for the highly controversial practice to be outlawed, after its ruling body voted for a ban last year.  More from the BBC

It’s 21st century so it’s absolutely unacceptable to treat sexual orientation as a disease or try to “convert” someone. It’s just ridiculous
