The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Priscilla is an absolute classic. This Australian gem tells the story of 2 queens and a tranny who cross the Australian outback by bus to perform a gig at a resort in Alice Springs. Gabriel can be a cute shy guy whose greatest friend is Hagg-a-licious Katherine- played by none apart from Tori Spelling. Along the way home from the bar one night, Gabriel is found by Mark, a go-go dancer he’d seen earlier that night. The two struggle to find a place to be alone and what follows is a comedy-strewn adventure. Drag queen Coco Peru provides hilarious functionality as… herself and is sure to provide you with a few laughs.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
“It’s my first time as a female, already it’s that time of the month.”
This is even more of comedic drama in lots of ways, but it certainly has at least one feet firmly planted in the comedy arena. John Cameron Mitchell (who also directed the film) plays Hedwig, a male-to-woman transgender rock artist who underwent the surgery treatment to flee Berlin with an American G.I. Points don’t go needlessly to say, unfortunately, and years afterwards she’s touring the united states with her band, carrying out concerts at the Bilgewater Inn seafood restaurants, which coincides with the touring dates of the ex-boyfriend who stole her songs. Full of great quotations and humor- Hedwig is certainly a must-see.
But I’m A Cheerleader!
“She’s just upset, since the fish on her plate is the only kind she can eat.”
This over-the-top comedy is approximately Megan Bloomfield (Natasha Lyonne)- a cheerleader at her senior high school who is sent to a camp designed to “fix” homosexuality by her parents and friends who believe she is a lesbian. With RuPaul playing an ex-gay counselor and Clea DuVall playing the girl that Megan falls in love with- it’s a great cast and an excellent story.
The Birdcage
“You look tired” means “you look old.” And “you appearance rested” means “you’ve had collagen.”
Truly a traditional with Robin Williams, Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria each providing truly hilarious performances. Robin has Armand Goldman, owner of The Birdcage cabaret bar in South Miami Seaside along with his Drag Queen partner Albert/Starina (Nathan Lane). From a previous heterosexual marriage, Armand includes a child who has fallen deeply in love with a conservative senator’s girl. Armand & Albert consent to stage a family group dinner to win over the family members, pretending to be always a “normal” straight couple which leads the group through an evening full of mistakes, adventure and hilariousness. Hank Azaria has Agador, the Goldman’s “house boy” and arguably steals the present in many respects. The Birdcage is completely classic.
So generally there you have it- my set of the top gay-themed comedies out generally there. It’s an incomplete list, to be sure, but it’ll at least get you started on some great gay films if you haven’t seen them already!

Although I’m not gay myself, I enjoy watching and revising the film “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar” and I consider this film a cult picture of the world cinema. The game of famous actors is simply inimitable.
Among gays there are very talented people. And films with their participation are interesting to watch. It seems to me that they are from another planet. They can be trusted.
I`m trying to remember that it’s very brave to have a films filled with entirely homosexual characters, but could it be a contemporary version of the “visibility at any cost” problem voiced by Harvey Fierstein in “Celluloid Closet”? The characters are not as negatively portrayed as the gays of the past, but they’re still very stereotyped, and obsessed with their homosexuality. But what romantic comedy isn’t filled with stereotyped characters obsessed with finding a perfect partner? It’s a generic thing.
Chi is not deceived by comedies, marveling at friendship and farewell to souls. Thanks to the director for the film, and therefore all the heroes for the positive that you bring to people.
I did not like the movie, of course, I understand everything, everyone is sick. But for gays I’m negative, maybe because of this it was not pleasant to watch a comedy. Beautiful guys, it’s very bad that gay.

Honestly saying, I haven’t watched any gay comedies, but there’s one movie that really touched my heart. It’s not a comedy, it’s a famous drama “Brokeback Mountain” directed by Ang Lee.
